Neighborhood Housing Services Oklahoma is Hiring a Financial Services Specialist Near Oklahoma, OK

Founded in 1981, Neighborhood Housing Services Oklahoma is a nonprofit community development organization that specializes in financial counseling and affordable homeownership. Our mission is to increase the availability of affordable, safe housing options for low-to-moderate income families and provide assistance to those who wish to become home owners through a variety of programs.

The Financial Services Specialist is responsible for providing comprehensive financial services and support to clients, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and organizational policies. This role involves managing financial transactions and grant management. The Financial Services Specialist must possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and an understanding of financial principles.

Reports to: Executive Director

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Identify and set up a new loan.
  • Create a loan servicing file.
  • Receive loan payments.
  • Post payment to computer system.
  • Responsible for the preparation of deposits.
  • Prepare disbursements for escrow refund.
  • Prepare and pay escrow amounts for insurance and taxes.
  • Clear Escrow account of paid out loan.
  • Update client insurance and tax information.
  • Prepare correspondence in reference to escrow shortage and returned checks.
  • Reconcile funds received.
  • Assure that all clients maintain property insurance.
  • Produce delinquency reports monthly and special reports as requested.
  • Maintain back-up file for the City of OKC Loan Servicing System.
  • Prepare annual escrow analysis.
  • Close out year in loan servicing systems.
  • Other duties as requested.

· Lead grant proposal development and submission—preparing and organizing materials for proposals, and submitting and monitoring grant applications, including:

· Researching new funding and business development opportunities on a local, state, and federal level.

· Maintaining and building relationships with funders and other strategic partners on a local, state, and national level.

· Drafting proposals/LOIs, grant application narratives, and budgets and collaborate to finalize with program staff, finance, and the Executive Director.

· Submitting grant applications via paper or online portals and maintaining list of passwords.

· Meeting with funders and NHS staff to explore funding opportunities and fulfill site visit requirements.

· Maintaining master calendar of grants and prospects and all associated files and correspondence.

· Executing thank you letters and facilitating grant contracts/agreements.

· Ensuring acknowledgment of funders/investors via website, e-newsletter, and social media; and

· Maintain grant compliance and reporting, including outcome measurement and grant budgets—taking responsibility for meeting high standards of effectiveness, timeliness, and completeness, including:

· Monitoring and maintaining funder and investor reporting schedules and requirements.

· Tracking progress toward organizational and programmatic outcomes and goals.

· Requesting reimbursements and drawdowns as needed.

  • Submit and monitor reimbursements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis for our external partnerships.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Executive Director.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree (or 3-7 years of work experience with nonprofit administration, grant writing, or fundraising).

· 3 years of experience in finance, real estate, fundraising, grant writing or grants management.

· Demonstrated analytical and persuasive writing skills experience as well as superior editing skills, including ability to convey complex information in a clear manner to a diverse audience.

· Strong administrative skills and self-motivated with the ability to set priorities and manage multiple tasks under minimal supervision in effective and efficient manner.

· Intermediate to expert skills in Microsoft Office (specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Experience with donor development/CRM software systems a plus.

· Familiarity and experience working with national, governmental and Oklahoma funders a plus.

· Ability to work under pressure and respond to deadlines without sacrificing quality; and

Demonstrated interest in the mission, vision, and values of Neighborhood Housing Servies Oklahoma.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,987.00 - $53,904.00 per year
